Shaun White

When Shaun was born he had to overcome heart complications that could have prevented him from living a normal life. In fact, he not only overcame this difficult situation but has excelled beyond a “normal life.” Shaun has become, arguably, the best action sports athlete ever to participate in both snowboarding and skateboarding. In some ways he has transcended both snowboarding and skateboarding providing each sport with new fans worldwide.

Shaun is the 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist and the favorite to win the 2010 Olympics. He is also the most decorated athlete in X-Games history with a record in gold medals and total medals. He won his first gold medal in skateboarding in 2007 and has a total of three medals in vert. He is the only athlete to win gold in both summer and winter X-Games events.

Back in 2002, Shaun began riding Park City Mountain Resort and became a Park City All-Star in 2003. While riding Park City’s terrain parks and pipe he learned his first front 900 off a jump, his first front 10, back 10, cab 10, front 12, and cab 12 all in the halfpipe. His accomplishments go far beyond this, but it demonstrates what Shaun has accomplished while calling Park City Mountain Resort his home mountain.

Shaun has been featured in many films over the years including Standard Films, Mack Dawg Productions and his own film, “The White Album.”

When we asked Shaun, “why Park City Mountain?” he had this to say: “Park City is a great mountain because there is so much to do, from a great halfpipe to hitting jumps with my friends, it’s my favorite place to ride.”
